Hello and welcome to the Mayor's Office. We have been busy but are attempting now to take more time to keep you informed of various upcoming issues, programs and projects. I encourage each and every one of you to become involved as we work to improve our community.
I have mentioned that I will be forming various Boards and Commissions and work with the Council's existing Committee structure as we go about creating new and dynamic ways of doing the business of government and working with groups, organizations, businesses and institutions across the area.
The first major effort will focus on Housing Stock and Neighborhood Redevelopment. Please follow the various links we will be adding in the coming weeks so that you can get involved in helping make our city overall a more enjoyable, cleaner, safer and livable city.

Duties of the Mayor
· Serve as Chief Conservator of the Peace within the City
· Supervise the administration of the affairs of the City
· Enforce the ordinances of the City and the laws of the State
· Make recommendations to the Council concerning the affairs of the City
· Keep the Council advised of the financial condition and future needs of the City
· Prepare and submit necessary budgets to Council
· Attend all meetings of the Council
· Prepare and submit reports to the Council
· Authorize the making of sewer, water, gas and other connections for street improvements or sanitary regulation
· Perform other duties as prescribed by the Charter or required of her by ordinance or resolution of the Council
