Applications for McKinley Pool Manager & Lifeguards

The City of Portsmouth will be accepting applications for Pool Manager and Lifeguards for the 2020 Summer season at the McKinley Pool.

Applicants for Manager should submit a record of past experience with the operation and maintenance of a municipal swimming pool.

List past experience in overseeing lifeguards and their responsibilities toward the safety of pool customers. This is a working manager’s position. The manager will be expected to participate in all aspects of preparing the pool for summer, continued cleaning and up-keep for the pool during the season, and final closing at the seasons end. Manager will be responsible for collecting fees, keeping the books, and delivering daily proceeds to the City.

Applicants for lifeguard must have a current up-to-date Certification for Lifeguard, Standard First-Aid and CPR/AED for Lifeguards. Past experience is not mandatory, but would be a plus.

Both of these positions require good people skills and be capable of getting along with all ages, especially children and teens.

McKinley Pool is a drug free workplace and all employees are subject to drug testing.
